ECM released Erkki-Sven Tüür’s “Oxymoron”

German record label ECM released Erkki-Sven Tüür’s composer’s CD “Oxymoron”, consisting of premier recordings of works written between 1990-2005 . Beside the title work “Oxymoron” for large ensemble (2003), the CD presents “Salve Regina” for male choir and ensemble (2005), marimba concerto “Ardor” (2001/2002) and “Dedication” for cello and piano (1990). Works are performed by Pedro Carneiro (marimba), Leho Karin (cello), Marrit Gerretz-Traksmann (piano), Vox Clamantis, NYYD Ensemble and Estonian National Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Olari Elts.

“Oxymoron” is Tüür’s fourth ECM-album. Under the same record label, “Crystallisatio” (1996), “Flux” (1999) and “Exodus” (2003) have been released previously. The CD booklet includes composer’s note and an essay by Hans-Klaus Jungheinrich in English and German.
