New piece by Tõnu Kõrvits at Türi Spring Festival

On June 9 at 8 p.m “The Bird Almighty” (text Maarja Kangro) by Tõnu Kõrvits will be premiered at Türi Spring Festival concert in Türi Church. New piece will be performed by Annaliisa Pillak (mezzo soprano), Reet Sukk (baroque flute), Tõnu Jõesaar (cello) and Iren Lill (harpsichord).

Türi Spring Festival (June 7-10) focuses on nature and music. During four days one may listen the concerts, lectures on nature and environment, visit the exhibitions and participate in hikes, quizes and recordings of the Estonian Radio broadcast “Ööülikool” (Night university). This year festival motif is birds, which has inspired also the festival concerts. Music from different periods will be performed by interpreters from Estonia and abroad: Iren Lill (harpsichord), Peep Lassmann (piano), Marju Riisikamp (organ), Robert Jürjendal (guitar), David Rothenberg (clarinet, flute, USA), Hilke Helling (contra-alto, Germany), early music ensemble “Cantores Vagantes” and recorder ensemble “Consort of five” (Germany).

The patron of the first Türi Spring Festival is Fred Jüssi, artistic director and producer is Iren Lill.
