Tallinn Guitar Festival is coming

Lasting four days, from June 13 to 16, The Second Guitar Festival presents noted guitarists from various countries in Tallinn. The opening of the festival at the Blackheads' Brotherhood House offers a talented French performer Thibault Cauvin, the winner of many prestigious guitar competitions. The second illustrious festival guest is Italian composer and guitarist Carlo Domeniconi, whose work will also be played by Tiit Peterson and Thibault Cauvin. Beside variegated guitar repertoire, new Estonian guitar works will be premiered – "Estonian lullaby" by Tõnu Kõrvits and "20 little pieces for guitar" by Lauri Jõeleht.

Events of the Tallinn Second Guitar Festival will happen at Tallinn Blackheads' Brotherhood House, Old Town Music House, Writers' House and History Museum. At the concert of Tiit Peterson and Tauno Saviauk in June 14 at History Museum, a commission work of the festival, sonata "From shadows" for flute and guitar by Finnish composer Kai Nieminen, will be premiered. The closing concert in June 16 at History Museum features the artistic EON Guitar Quartet from Italy performing arrangements of popular orchestral works.
The festival programme also includes composition master classes by Thibault Cauvin and Kai Nieminen, the seminar on latest compositions by Carlo Domeniconi and a presentation of "Kantare" guitars. Best Estonian guitar students will participate as the performers.
Tallinn Guitar Festival was established in 2006. The founder and artistic director of the festival is Tiit Peterson.
