Märt-Matis Lill’s composer’s recital

On October 6 at 7 p.m Märt-Matis Lill’s composer’s recital will take place in Tallinn Blackhead’s Brotherhood House (Pikk Str. 26) at festival Hea Uus Heli (The New Good Sound). The programme includes “To the birds” for bass drum (2006), “Kantele play of Väinämöinen” for electronics (2000), “My weeping voice is the wind of autumn” for chamber ensemble (2004), fragments from dance performance “Tallinn-Aegviidu” (2005), music from films by Rein Maran and Priit Tender, music from Conor McPherson’s play “Shining city” and radio play “Nokia” by Mart Kivastik. Excerpts from “Echo of lost forests” for symphony orchestra (2004) will be heard several times throughout the concert.

The music by Märt-Matis Lill will be performed by Ensemble U staffed by Tarmo Johannes (flute), Meelis Vind (bass clarinet), Vambola Krigul (percussion), Taavi Kerikmäe (piano), Merje Hallik (violin) and Levi-Tanel Mägila (cello), zither player Kristi Mühling and Jürmo Eespere quartet staffed by Jürmo Eespere (piano), Siim Aimla (saxophone), Mihkel Mälgand (double bass) and Eno Kollom (percussion). In addition, dancers Kaja Lindal, Kaspar Aus and light designer Revo Koplus will participate in the concert.

“My weeping voice is the wind of autumn” was voted among the 10 selected works in the general category at the International Rostrum of Composers 2007.
