Mirjam Tally's new work in the concert programme of the Estonian National Male Choir

Mirjam Tally's new choral work "2 pages, 122 Words on Music and Dance" will be soon premiered in the Estonian National Male Choir's concert programme titled "Something in the Air". The work is commissioned by the Estonian National Male Choir and written on the text excerpts from John Cage's book "Silence".

In the same programme, the first performance of the oratorio "Something in the Air" by English composer Andrew Poppy commissioned also by the ENMC, will take place. Using the texts of Gospel of St. John and Portuguese poet Fernando Pessoa the composer is ruminating about the secret of human body and soul.

The concert programme also includes Veljo Tormis' "Kullervo's Message" based on the dramatic episode from the Finnish national epic "Kalevala" and written in 1994 as a commission for the Hilliard Ensemble.

The Estonian National Male Choir presents it's new concert programme "Something in the Air" on January 31, Pärnu Concert Hall, on February 1, Tartu Harbour Theatre and February 2, Tallinn Rock Café. Kädy Plaas (soprano), Iljo Toming (guitar), Terje Terasmaa-Leibur and Rein Roos (percussion), Andrew Poppy (live electronics) and male vocal quartet "Improloo" will be conducted by Kaspars Putninsh.
