Helena Tulve’s “Thaw” – the best classical CD of the year

On March 19, Estonian Association of the Phonogram Producers made public the annual awards. Among 17, mostly popular music awards, Helena Tulve’s composer’s CD “Sula” (“Thaw”, Estonian Radio, 2005) won the 2005 Estonian Music Award in the category of the best classical CD. The same album was awarded for the best design (designer Tuuli Aule).

Estonian Association of the Phonogram Producers gives annual awards since its establishment in 1998. In 2004, the best classical CD was Toivo Tulev’s author’s CD “Be Lost in the Call” (Estonian Radio, 2004). In 2003, the classical CD award was given to the ensemble “Rondellus“ for the album “Sabbatum” (Estonian Radio, 2003).
