On May 18, the new work “Songs on the Bridge of Encounters” for guitar an orchestra will be premiered at the International Guitar Festival Münster, Germany.
Guitar as an instrument plays an important role in the output of Kõrvits: he has used it in a number of ensemble and solo works. “The Songs on the Bridge of Encounters” was commissioned by German guitarist Reinbert Evers. At the concert in Münster, the soloist Reinbert Evers will be accompanied by Vilnius St. Christopher Chamber Orchestra conducted by Donatas Katkus.
Besides the Kõrvits’ new work, guitar concertos by Lithuanian Anatolijus Senderovas and Latvian Eriks Esenvaldis are included in the concert programme comprising Baltic composers’ guitar music.
