Premiere of the “Recitative” by Age Hirv in KUMU Art Museum

On May 11, „Recitative” for mezzo soprano, alto flute, cello and Estonian zither (kannel) written by Age Hirv will be premiered in KUMU Art Museum. Concert programme is titled as „ReVisioon” and belongs to the series „KuMu KUMUs” – „Art and Music in Art Museum”, which presents art events trying to integrate visual and sound experiences.

Besides a new work by Age Hirv, chamber music of Estonian composers Helena Tulve, Galina Grigorjeva and Tatjana Kozlova as well as Helmut Lachenmann and Salvatore Sciarrino will be performed.

Age Hirv (b. 1973) is Estonian composer with refined, poetic mood of expression. She has studied composition in Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre with Eino Tamberg and Helena Tulve. Currently she is working on her Magister degree and improving her skills at the Karlsruhe Higher Music School with Prof. Wolfgang Rihm.

Concert featuring Estonian and European contemporary chamber music will be performed by the ensemble „Resonabilis”: Iris Oja as female voice, Kristi Mühling on kannel, Tarmo Johannes as flutist and Aare Tammesalu as cellist. Producer of the concert is Association of Estonian Professional Musicians.
