Chamber chorus Voces Musicales on concert tour to Iisrael

On May 23, Estonian chamber choir Voces Musicales will travel to Israel to participate in the The Felicja Blumental International Music Festival in Tel Aviv. Voces Musicales under the conduction of Risto Joost will perform with a whole-evening concert programme of a cappella choral works by Arvo Pärt and Veljo Tormis. The programme compiled by Risto Joost includes “Magnificat”, “…which was the son of…” and “Nun dimittis” by Arvo Pärt, as well as “Litany to thunder” and “The curse upon iron” by Veljo Tormis, among other choral works of the two composers.

In addition to the whole-evening concert, Voces Musicales will perform at a charity event related with the festival and at the finale concert, Risto Joost being engaged as a counter tenor soloist in Requiem by Michael Haydn.

The winner of the Grand Prix of the International Choral Contest Tallinn 2005, Voces Musicales was invited to take part in The Felicja Blumental International Music Festival due to the organisers’ interest in Estonian music and especially in Estonian choral tradition. In connection with the concert of Estonian choral music in Tel Aviv, an interview with Veljo Tormis will be published in the largest dailies of the capital.

On Sunday, May 21, in the eve of the concert tour to Israel, Voces Musicales will perform the programme of the future guest concert in Tallinn Town Hall.
