Tõnu Kõrvits, Ülo Krigul and Mirjam Tally at ISCM World New Music Days

From April 10 to 15, annual ISCM World New Music Days entitled Mirabilia Memorabilia will take place in Zagreb within the framework of Music Biennale Zagreb (from April 7 to 17).

World New Music Days 2011 presents Tõnu Kõrvits's Canon for children’s or female choir (2010) and Ülo Krigul's „…Wachet auf… die Stimme. Eine Choralfantasie György Ligeti in memoriam“ for 100 alarm clocks (2007) which were selected by ISCM council to be performed at prestigious festival. Additionally, Sweden is represented by Birds and Shadows for violin and string orchestra (2008) by Mirjam Tally – Estonian composer living in Gotland.

Ülo Krigul’s sound installation for 100 alarm clocks will be set up every day in the foyer of the Vatroslav Lisinski Concert Hall during the Biennale and Festival. Tõnu Kõrvits’s Canon will be performed on April 14 by Zvjezdice Girls’ Choir conducted by Zdravko Šlijvaci and Mirjam Tally’s Birds and Shadows will receive its performance on April 15 by Zagreb Soloists under the guidance of Matija Fortuna. Both concerts will be held at Mimara Museum.
