Estonian Composers’ Union’s meeting series “Who are you, composer?”

Opening season brings a new undertaking from the Estonian Composers’ Union – a series of meetings „Who are you, composer?” to introduce Estonian composers, their artistic credo and wider views. Meetings will take place on Tuesdays, once a month. In free and easy atmosphere, the composer and his or her friends will get the floor. The music of the composer will be presented; questions to him or her are expected and discussion is welcome.

The first meeting of the series „Who are you, composer?” will take place on September 26, 7 PM, in Von Krahl Theatre and is dedicated to composer Peeter Vähi, whose output is deeply influenced by his long-time interest in Oriental music and spiritual tradition. Meeting will be held with the assistance of composer Timo Steiner, director of the State Concert Institution Eesti Kontsert Aivar Mäe, and flutist, expert of the ancient music, Neeme Punder. Presentation of the new vinyl-CD is in programme.

New meetings are coming in next months with Age Hirv (September 24), Tõnu Kõrvits (November 21) and Margo Kõlar (December 19).
