Dance performance with music by Tõnu Kõrvits and Jacob Kirkegaard

On October 29 and 30, dance performance „Inherent nature” with music by Estonian composer Tõnu Kõrvits and Danish sound artist Jacob Kirkegaard (1975) currently living in Germany, will be premiered at the Kanuti Guild Hall. The idea and choreography of the performance is from Mari Mägi who is also the performer.

Mari Mägi has studied at the School of Stage Arts in Denmark and worked with companies such as Cantabile 2 and Insightout Company. Her dance performance „Inherent nature” is based on the story „Seal coat as soul cover” from the book „Women who run with the wolves: myths and stories about the wild woman archetype” by Clarissa Pinkola Estés – world-famous American writer, poet and Jungian psychoanalyst of Mexican origin.

Jacob Kirkegaard as a sound artist focuses on the musicality of environmental sounds. In last years’ work of Tõnu Kõrvits, reflections from Oriental melodic styles and Estonian folk song create mythical atmosphere.
