Laureates of Estonian Music Council’s Music Prizes 2005

The laureates of Estonian Music Council’s Music Prizes 2005 have been announced on September 26: Olav Ehala, composer and pianist, and Arvo Leibur, leader of the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra.

The prizes will be awarded to the laureates on September 30, at International Music Day’s concert in Estonia Concert Hall, where Estonian premiere of Concerto for Flute, Guitar and Orchestra, Op. 117 by Jaan Rääts will take place with Jürgen Franz (flute), Boris Bjärn Bagger (guitar), Estonian National Symphony Orchestra and Leslie B. Dunner, conductor.
(The Double Concerto was premiered on May 18, 2001 in Baden-Baden, Germany, with Jean-Claude Gérard, Boris Björn Bagger, Baden-Baden Philharmonics and Werner Stiefel.)
