In this week, Erkki-Sven Tüür’s chamber work Conversio will reach on stages of Canada and UK music festivals. Frequently performed minimalist piece written in1994 has been recorded on 3 CDs.

On June 6, Conversio will be performed by Mark Fewer (violin) and John Novacek (piano) in Halifax Sir James Dunn Theatre in Canada. Concert belongs to the program of biannual chamber music festival Scotia Festival of Music. Recital of American pianist John Novacek presents Classical composers (Mozart, Brahms, Bartók) as well as contemporary music by Tüür, John Adams and George Antheil (latter ones performed with violinist Mark Fewer). Novacek has performed Conversio previously several times in Europe, America and Canada.

On June 11, Conversio can be listened from Pekka Kuusisto (violin) and Alasdair Beatson (piano) in Aldeburgh St. Peter and St. Paul Church within the framework of Aldeburgh Festival. Concert is titled as Contrasts after Bela Bartók’s piece and alludes also to variegated program (György Kurtág, Iiro Rantala, Sebastian Fegerlund, improvisations and Finnish tango).
