Erkki-Sven Tüür’s „Awakening“ in Berlin

  On May 26, the German premiere of Erkki-Sven Tüür’s Awakening (2011) for mixed choir and symphony orchestra will take place at Chamber Music Hall of Berliner Philharmonie at 8 pm. It will be performed by Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir and Deutches Kammerochester Berlin, with Daniel Reuss conducting. In addition, the program also consists of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Great Mass in C minor, KV 427.

Tüür’s Awakening (text: Juhan Liiv, Ernst Enno, Jaan Kaplinski, Doris Kareva in Estonian and liturgical texts in Latin) received its world premiere on March 10 at Estonia Concert Hall in Tallinn by Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir and Sinfonietta Rīga under the guidance of Daniel Reuss.
