Season's final concerts


On May 13 at 7 pm, Estonian National Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Nikolai Alexeev, will give its last concert of the season at Estonia Concert Hall in Tallinn. Mezzo-soprano Hermine Haselböck, Tallinn Boys’ Choir and Estonian Concert Choir will also perform. The program consists of Gustav Mahler’s Symphony No. 3.  

Vanemuine Symphony Orchestra will end its season with two concerts, taking place on May 13 at Jõhvi Concert Hall and May 14 at Vanemuine Concert Hall, Tartu. The symphony orchestra, the opera choir, Tartu Youth Choir, Jaan Kapp (piano), Irina Vaschenko (soprano), Atlan Karp (baritone) and conductor Mihkel Kütson will perform Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Piano Concerto E flat Major and Vaughan Williams’ A Sea Symphony.

The State Concert Institute Eesti Kontsert will present its season’s final concerts the Latvian National Symphony Orchestra, conductor Nobuaki Nakata (Japan) and pianist Vestard Shimkus (Latvia). On May 20 at Pärnu Concert Hall and May 21 at Estonian Concert Hall Ludwig van Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 3, Andris Dzenitis’ Prelude. Light and Gustav Mahler’s Symphony No. 1.

Tallinn Philharmonic Society’s final concert of the season will take place on May 27 at Tallinn Methodist Church. Tallinn Chamber Orchestra, mezzo-soprano Annely Peebo, tenor Mati Turi and conductor Stanislav Kochanowski will perform Jaan Rääts’ Nonet and Mahler’s The Song of the Earth.
