Piano recital of Marko Martin in Tallinn

On May 5 at 7 pm, pianist Marko Martin will give solo recital at Estonian Concert Hall in Tallinn within the series Elite Concerts organised by Association of Estonian Professional Musicians. The program consists of the first two books Switzerland and Italy of the piano cycle Years of Pilgrimage. Martin performed the same program also on April 29 at Narva Castle.

  Marko Martin graduated from the Estonian Academy of Music (Prof. Peep Lassmann) and received his master’s degree at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London with Professor Joan Havill. He has participated in the master classes of Eric Heidsieck, Dominique Merlet, Sequeira Costa, Leon Fleisher, Dmitri Bashkirov and Murray Perahia and has received acknowledgements at more than 20 competitions for pianists.

Martin has given solo recitals and performed both as a chamber musician and soloist with different orchestras in many European countries as well in North America. Since 2002, he is teaching piano at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre. Martin has recorded performances at BBC, CBC, Estonian Radio and 2 CD albums with the works of Franz Schubert (Abbas Records, 1998) and Ferenc Liszt (Arktos, 2002).
