World premiere of Erkki-Sven Tüür’s orchestral piece conducted by Arvo Volmer

On February 6, National Orchestra of Belgium under the baton of Arvo Volmer will give a concert in Bozar, the centre for fine arts in Brussels. Concert presents the premiere of Erkki-Sven Tüür’s Le poids des vies non vécues that is the BNO’s commission in the frame of the centenary of World War I. Concert will feature also pianist Alexei Volodin who will perform Ludwig van Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 3. The third piece is Carl Nielsen’s Symphony No. 4 Inextinguishable. Concert is preceded by the meeting with Erkki-Sven Tüür.

Only after a few days, on Febryary 9, Tüür’s orchestral work Lighthouse (1997) is in the program of the concert of Sinfonietta Rīga in Frankfurt Alte Oper. Orchestra will be conducted by Normunds Šnē, concert will take place on the occasion of the Republic of Latvia holding the Presidency of the Council of the European Union in 2015.
