World premiere of Erkki-Sven Tüür’s Missa Brevis, Australian premiere of orchestral work De Produndis

Erkki-Sven Tüür’s Missa Brevis (2013) will be premiered on May 29 in Weimar Herderkirche by Ensemble EXtraCHORd (conductor Martin Ramroth). This 15-minute a cappella work for mixed choir is commissioned work of the 9. German Choir Competition (Deutscher Chorwettbewerb) and will be first performed in Estonia in August at Pühalepa Music Festival by chamber choir Collegium Musicale.

 Olari Elts
Orchestral work De Profundis (2013) – joint commission of Finnish, Estonian and Australian orchestras – reaches Perth in the end of this week after premieres in Helsinki and Tallinn. Work will be performed by West Australian Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Olari Elts in Perth Concert Hall on May 30 and 31.

 Johannes Fischer
Tüür’s another orchestral work – Marimba Concerto Ardor (2001) – was performed in Germany on May 17 by Kammerakademie Potsdam. Concert in Potsdam Nikolaisaal was conducted by Antonello Manacorda, soloist was Johannes Fischer.
