World premiere of Erkki-Sven Tüür’s orchestral work „De Profundis“

In Friday, November 1 at 7 pm, concert of Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra will take place in Helsinki Music Center, where Erkki-Sven Tüür’s new orchestral work De Profundis will be premiered. The second work of this concert is Gustav Mahler’s Symphony No. 6. Orchestra will be conducted by Olari Elts. Concert will be broadcast live on YLE Radio 1 and yle.fi/klassinen. 17-minute work for large symphony orchestra is a joint commission of three orchestras: Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra, Estonian National Symphony Orchestra and West Australian Symphony Orchestra. Next performances of De Profundis under the baton of Olari Elts will take place on April 11, 2014, in Estonia Concert Hall (Tallinn), when the work will be performed by Estonian National Symphony Orchestra within the Estonian Music Days Festival, and May 30 and 31 in Perth Concert Hall at the concert of West Australian Symphony Orchestra.
