Peeter Vähi’s percussion concerto under the direction of Kristjan Järvi in Germany

Peeter Vähi’s Call of Sacred Drums (2008) for taiko ensemble and symhony orchestra will be performed thrice in Germany. Performers are Hayashi Eitetsu Taiko Ensemble from Japan, MDR Sinfonieorchester and its new chief conductor Kristjan Järvi. Together with Vähi’s work also Carl Maria von Weber’s incidental music to Turandot, Paul Hindemith’s Symphonical Metamorphoses and Leos Janáček’s Sinfonietta can be listened.

Concerts will take place on September 28 at 8 pm in Erfurt Theatre, September 29 at 5 pm in Suhl Congress Centrum and September 30 at 11 am in Leipzig Gewandhaus. The last concert will be recorded by Mitteldeutscher Rundfunk.
