Oksana Sinkova

One of the most outstanding Estonian flute players Oksana Sinkova graduated from the Georg Ots Tallinn Music School in 1997 with Kaljo West, in the year 2002 from the Estonian Academy of Music under the guidance of Neeme Punder, Matti Helin and Imants Sneibis and in 2006 she obtained her Master’s Degree. In 2004/2005, Sinkova improved her skills at the Hochschule für Musik und Theatre Hamburg with Mosche Aron Epstein. In 2006, she started her PhD studies at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre.

Oksana Sinkova has participated in the master courses of Maarika Järvi, Patrick Gallois, Renate Greiss-Armin, Jean-Claude Gerard, Liisa Ruoho et al.

Oksana Sinkova has gained recognition at several competitions: first prizes at the competition „Young Virtuoso“ (1991), Johann Sebastian Bach competition organized by the Estonian Academy of Music and Sibelius Academy (1998 and 2000) and competition for Estonian wind instrument players (2008). She also won the Yamaha Scholarship (1999), made it to the finals of competition-festival „Con Brio“ (2000) and Andrejs Jurjans international competition (2001) and was the laureate of the international competition „Pacem in Terris“ (2005).

Since 1999, Oksana Sinkova has worked as the guest principal flutist of Narva Symphony Orchestra and since 2000 as the principal flutist of Vanemuine Symphony Orchestra. She has also played in European Festival Orchestra, Hortus Musical Orchestra, Nõmme City Orchestra and Haapsalu City Orchestra.

Oksana Sinkova has given concerts in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Finland, Germany, Greece and the Netherlands, performed with different chamber ensembles and been a soloist in front of Tallinn Chamber Orchestra, Vanemuine Symphony Orchestra, Narva Symphony Orchestra, Tartu Chamber Orchestra, Georg Ots Tallinn Music School Symphony Orchestra and Heino Eller Tartu Music School Symphony Orchestra.
