Martin Sildos

b. 20.03.1985, Tallinn

Martin Sildos begun music studies at age of five as a third generation of musicians in his family. In  1993–2000  Sildos studied at Tallinn Music School percussion under the guidance of Anto Õnnis and continued at Georg Ots Tallinn Music School with professor Rein Roos. In 2005 Sildos begun studies at Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre on percussion, under the guidance of Rein Roos and worked as a percussionist at Estonian Nationa Opera Symphony Orchestra (2004–2007). After that Sildos begun conducting studies in Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre and obtained bachelors degree on conducting under the guidance of Toomas Kapten in 2010. In 2009 Sildos was awarded Gustav Ernesaks conducting scholarship. 2011/2012 Sildos continued orchestral conducting at University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna under the guidance of Uroš Lajovic. In 2012 Martin Sildos obtained masters degree on conducting under the guidance of prof. Toomas Kapten. He has also participated at master classes of Eri Klas, Paavo Järvi, Nikolai Aleksejevi, Jan Yngwe, Neeme Järvi, Paul Mägi and Leonid Grin.

Martin Sildos has been conductor of several symphony orchestras including Estonian National Symphony Orchestra, Vanemuine Symphony Orchestra, Pärnu City Orchestra, Estonian National Youth Symphony Orchestra, Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre Symphony Orchestra, Corelli Baroque Orchestra, The Orchestra of the Estonian Defence Forces, Pille Lill Music Fond Chamber Orchestra. He has collaborated with Estonian renowned musicians soloists as Marius Järvi, Oksana Sinkova, Tengku Ahmad Irfan, Pille Lill and Oliver Kuusik. Also he has worked with several choirs as Revalia Male Chamber Choir, Nargen Festival Choir, Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre Chamber Choir and Chamber Choir Young Estonian Voices and Estonian National Male Choir. He has also participated as a conductor at Estonian Punk Song Festival (2010).

Since 2013 Martin Sildos is conductor of Tallinn University Symphony Orchestra and collaborates since 2014 as a condctor/assistent with Theatre Vanemuine. In addition Martin Sildos is conductor of chamber choir Noored Eesti Hääled and often performs with Corelli Baroque Orchestra and Tallinn Music High School's symphony orchestra (since 2013).
