Patrik Sebastian Unt

Patrik Sebastian Unt has graduated from the Rapla Co-Educational Gymnasium (2018) and Rapla Music School in saxophone and piano performance (2017). He is currently studying to become an aircraft pilot at the Estonian Aviation Academy.

He started composing independently at the age of 11. In 2017, Unt’s work "Viimased lumeta päevad" ("The Last Snowless Days", text by Kristiina Ehin) was selected for the Emerging Choir Composers Program. In 2018 he won a State Music Olympiad in Estonia as well as received a gold diploma at the International Music Olympiad in Tallinn. His choral work "Nüüd õhtu on" ("Now It’s Evening", text by Kersti Merilaas) was selected the best composition at both olympiads. Patrik has been given several awards including Maxima Future Talent 2014 and Rapla Parish Culture Award 2017. At the competition "LHV Young Composer 2022" held as part of the Estonian Music Days, he won the main prize for the work "Fragmentation" for flute, bassoon and piano.

Patrik Sebastian Unt has taken part in choral workshop as a concertmaster (conductor Franz M. Herzog) in Germany in the framework of Eurotreff 2015. He conducted male choirs at the Rapla County Song and Dance Festival in 2018. At the moment, he conducts the mixed choir Luuska Lauluühing in Tartu and the vocal chamber ensemble Vox pUNT, founded by Patrik himself. In addition, Unt has been ascribed the 6th level professional certificate of a choir conductor.
