Heino Eller’s piano music will be performed by Sten Lassmann in Tartu and Tallinn

Pianist Sten Lassmann will perform Heino Eller’s piano music from 1914–1946 in Tartu and Tallinn. The program consists of „Preludes” from 1914–1917, „Six pieces” („Estonian Suite”), „Toccata”, „Dance” in B minor, „In Dance Mood” in F sharp minor, „Danse-caprice”, „Bells” and Piano Sonata No. 2 in C sharp minor. Concerts will take place in Tartu Heino Eller Music School on September 2 at 6 pm and in Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre on September 4 at 5 pm. Also lecture about Eller’s oeuvre will be held in Tartu Heino Eller Music School at 5 pm, before the concert in Tartu.

Sten Lassmann (1982) is one of the most outstanding pianists of younger generation in Estonia who has achieved recognition in Estonia and abroad. He has given recitals, performed as a chamber musician and appeared as a soloist with the orchestra. He has been awarded several prizes, the most notable is the first prize from the VI National Piano competition in Tallinn in 2002. Lassmann studied piano in Tallinn Music High School and continued his studies in Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre with Professor Ivari Ilja. Currently, he is developing his skills at the Royal Music Academy in London with Professor Ian Fountain and Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre with Professor Ivari Ilja.
