Harmonia Mundi has released Toivo Tulev’s author-CD

Recording company Harmonia Mundi has released Toivo Tulev’s author-CD Songs which comprises composer’s later choral music and vocal chamber music as a premiere recordings. CD presents “Songs”, “Der Herr ist mein getreuer Hirt I”, “Rejoice, rejoice, rejoice!”, “Leave, alas this tormenting”, “Jusques au printemps” and “Der Herr ist mein getreuer Hirt II”. Works are performed by Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir, Tallinn Chamber Orchestra, Kädy Plaas (soprano), Robin Blaze (countertenor), Harry Traksmann (violin) and Marrit Gerretz-Traksmann (piano) with Paul Hillier conducting.

Songs is the second Tulev’s author-CD, the first one Be lost in the call was released by Estonian Radio in 2004. Tulev was a composer-in-residence at the Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir for the season 2004/2005. CD Songs is already the tenth recording for the choir which has been released by Harmonia Mundi. Of Estonian composers, reputable recording company has previously released solo albums of music by Arvo Pärt.
