Festival Towers of Tallinn on August 25-27

Tallinn 2011 - European Capital of Culture and Corelli Music Agency present new concert series, in which newer and older towers of Tallinn like Radisson Blu (SAS) Hotel, SEB Bank's headquarters and old town towers Tall Hermann, Fat Margaret and Kiek in de Kök will be used as concert venues. Tallinn's city architecture and Estonian and world's music connecting festival includes in its program three concerts of Estonian Composers' music.

On Friday, August 26 at 19.30, at Governor's Garden, near the Tall Hermann (Lossi Square 1), a concert of patriotic songs will be held to celebrate Estonian 20th Anniversary of Reindependence. Estonian Television Girls' Choir under conducting of Aarne Saluveer will sing songs by Siiri Sisask, Veljo Tormis, Mart Saar, Miina Härma, Olav Ehala and Valter Ojakäär. Additional information

On Saturday, August 27 at 13.30,
on 23rd floor of the SEB Bank's headquarters (Tornimäe 2), ensemble Una Corda with Liis Viira (harp), Kristi Mühling (kannel) and Ene Nael (harpsichord) will perform a program with Johann Sebastian Bach's Wachet Auf, Ruft Uns die Stimme, Cyrillus Kreek's Blessed is The Man from the cycle Songs of David, Mirjam Tally's Structures for kannel, Peter Süda's Gigue (à la Bach), Raimo Kangro's Suite for Piano op. 1, Mirjam Tally's Line, Arvo Pärt's Variations For The Healing Of Arinushka, René Eespere's Twill, Johann Sebastian Bach's chorale Jesu Bleibt Meine Freude from cantata Herz und Mund und Tat und Leben, and Ester Mägi's A Tre.

On Saturday, August 27 at 16.00, at Katel / Cauldron (Põhja avenue 27), ensemble Resonabilis with Iris Oja (voice), Tarmo Johannes (flute), Kristi Mühling (kannel), Aare Tammesalu (cello) will play Estonian composers' works from the past three years: Tatjana Kozlova's Tightrope Walker, Age Veeroos's Loss of Oneself, Helena Tulve's North Wind, South Wind and Tauno Aints's 3film.
