Eve Neumann

b. February 27, 1976 Tallinn

Saxophonist Eve Neumann began her musical studies with piano at Keila Music School. Her saxophone studies started at the Georg Ots Tallinn Music School with Aleksander Rjabov and Prof Olavi Kasemaa and continued at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre under the guidance of Prof Olavi Kasemaa, gaining the Bachelor’s degree as a soloist and orchestral player in 2002. She has also improved her skills at the Sibelius Academy with Prof Pekka Savijoki and the Utrecht School of the Arts (Utrecht Hoogeschool voor de Kunsten) with Prof Johan van der Linden.

Eve Neumann has participated in masterclasses of Jörgen Pettersson (Sweden), Christer Johnsson (Sweden) and Christophe Bois (France). In 2019, she earned her Master’s degree in contemporary and free improvisation with Anto Pett and Anneliis Poll at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre.

She has participated in festival Saxomania (1997) and competition-festival for young interprets Con Brio (2002). In 2003, Eve Neumann won the IV Prize and diploma at H. Kareva International Competition for Saxophone Players.

Eve Neumann has collaborated with harpsichordist Ene Nael, organist Tiia Tenno and organist Pille Metsson, Tallinn Saxophone Quartet and Estonian National Symphony Orchestra. She is the member and one of the founders of saxophone quartet Quattro Quarti and the exclusive the NATO Saxophone Orchestra (founded in 2015), which gave its first concert at the World Saxophone Congress in Strasbourg in 2015. She is the principal saxophonist at the Estonian Defence Forces Orchestra and is the board member and one of the founders of the Estonian Saxophone Association.

Eve Neumann has worked as a saxophone teacher at the Tallinn Music School, Viimsi Music School and Keila Music School. Additionally, she actively participates in free improvisation projects and masterclasses.
