Erkki-Sven Tüür: „The title of the concerto – „Ecstatic Pilgrim” – guides our interpretation of the character of the soloist. Let’s imagine the pilgrim’s voyage in search of his goal, full of obstructions and danger, his spirit and drive alternating with exhaustion and weariness; overcoming physically discernable difficulties as well as spiritual battles…”.
