Estonian music at the World Music Days

World Music Days organised by International Society for Contemporary Music takes place from October 3 to 12 in Wrocław, Poland. The representatives of Estonian music are Mirjam Tally and Arvo Pärt. Tally’s choral work „Animalistic Hymn” will be performed by Chór Narodowego Forum Muzyki under the direction of Agnieszka Franków-Żelazny in the Concert Hall of Wrocław Philharmonic on October 7. Tally’s piece is in the program together with choral music by composers from Ireland, Canada, Latvia, Ukraine and Venezuela. Pärt’s Fratres is in the program of concert „Strings+“ at the Academy of Music on October 9. Fratres’s version for cello and guitar was prepared by guitarist Marek Piaseczny following a commission from the World Music Days 2014. The Polish premiere of choral work „Virgencita“ will take place on October 11 at the concert of chamber choir Cantores Minores Wratislavienses under the baton of Piotr Karpeta in Holy Cross’ Church.
