Corelli Music opens new season

Music agency Corelli Music starts its 2008/2009 season with concerts entitled as Vivaldi, Venice and Casanova, performed by ensemble Corelli Consort and Raivo Järvi. The concerts will take place on October 15 at 7 pm in Maardu manor (in the series of Maardu Manor`s Music Salon), October 18 at 6 pm in Pärnu Victoria Hotel (Café Grand Music Salon) and October 19 at 6 pm at the building of Estonian Academy of Science (Toompea`s Music Salon). The program consists of Antonio Vivaldi’s concertos and sonatas, Johann Sebastian Bach’s arrangement for harpsichord of Vivaldi’s violin concerto and Jean-Jacques Rousseau's arrangement for flute of the Spring from Vivaldi's Four Seasons.

The program Vivaldi, Venice and Casanova combines pieces by Antonio Vivaldi, stories about fascinating city Venice and its famous resident Giacomo Girolamo Casanova. The stories are told by Raivo Järvi and the ensemble consists of Mail Sildos (baroque violin), Tõnu Jõesaar (baroque cello), Lembit Orgse (harpsichord) and Neeme Punder (baroque flutes).

On International Music Day, October 1, music agency Corelli Music was awarded with the annual prize of Cultural Endowment of Estonia for organizing concert series that enrich Estonian musical life.
