Corelli Baroque Orchestra’s concerts „Passion“

Corelli Baroque Orchestra will perform on April 12 at Tartu St. John's Church and April 13 at Tallinn St. John's Church. The program dedicated to Holy Week comprise Johann Sebastian Bach’s solo cantatas „Wiederstehe doch der Sünde“ BWV 54 and „Vergnügte Ruh’, beliebte Seelenlust“ BWV 170 by Johann Sebastian Bach and motet „Filiae maestae Jerusalem“ RV 638 by Antonio Vivaldi. Additionally, the concert program includes Passion-spirited orchestral works from baroque era.

The counter tenor Ka Bo Chan was born in Hong Kong in 1975. At the age of 17 he emigrated to Portland (Oregon, USA) where he studied singing under the guidance of LeaAnn DenBeste and Leslie Green and choral conducting with Lonnie Cline. He arrived to Estonia by the invitation of Veljo Tormis in 1997 where he continued studies at Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre. Currently Ka Bo Chan is a freelancer singer performing both in Estonia and abroad. He has collaborated with several Estonian conductors, soloists, choirs and orchestras including Estonian National Male Choir, NYYD Ensemble, Hortus Musicus, Pärnu City Orchestra ect.
