Concerts of the Association of Estonian Professional Musicians in December

In December, the 10the season of the Association of Estonian Professional Musicians will continue with pianist Mihkel Mattisen’s solo concerts and concert of duo Kristiina Kriit (violin) – Malle Maltis (electronics).

Mihkel Mattisen, who has been active in Estonian music field for 18 years, is known as a song writer, pop musician, producer and classical pianist. On December 7 and 13, he will perform at Tartu University Hall and Estonia Concert Hall with solo program consisting of three piano sonatas by Alexandr Skrjabin, Sergei Prokofiev and Frédéric Chopin.

On December 8, violinist Kristina Kriit will perform three solo pieces by Eugène Ysaÿe, Luciano Berio and Louis Andriessen. Together with composer and electronic musician Malle Maltis, they will perform Steve Reich’s “Violin Phase” and Maltis’ “Alla luce e all´aria aperta“ (2006) and „Chameleon chant“ (2010), which was the winning piece of the 3rd ECPNM European Competition for Live-Electronic Music Projects.
