Concerts of Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir and Tallinn Chamber Orchestra, Arvo Pärt Weekend in Brussels



In the end of January, Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir together with Tallinn Chamber Orchestra will give concerts in Netherlands, United Kingdom, Ireland and Belgium, being one of the main artists at Arvo Pärt festival in Brussels. Tour starts on January 25 from Holland, Groningen, with the music by Arvo Pärt. EPCC and TCO under the baton of Risto Joost present Pärt’s works like „Cantus in Memory of Benjamin Britten“, „Adam’s Lament“, „Fratres“ and „Te Deum“.

From January 26 to 28, festival „Arvo Pärt Weekend“ dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Estonia will take place in Flagey Concert Hall in Brussels. The festival includes an exhibition from the Estonian Theatre and Music Museum, lectures, film screenings, meditations and concerts. The performers are Tallinn Chamber Orchestra, Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir, Brussels Philharmonic Orchestra and Flemish Radio Choir. EPCC and TCO will bring to the audience Arvo Pärt’s „Te Deum“ (January 27, conductor Risto Joost), Liisa Hirsch’s „Lines“, Arvo Pärt’s „Nunc dimittis“, „Dopo la vittoria“ „Magnificat” and „Zwei Beter“, Veljo Tormis’s „St. John’s Day Songs for Midsummer Eve“ and „Curse Upon Iron“ as well as Ülo Krigul’s „Vesi ise“ (January 28, concert „Tale form Estonia“, conductor Kaspars Putniņš).

EPCC’s tour will continue with the celebration of the 100th birthday of the Republic of Estonia on January 30 in London Barbican Centre, January 31 in Dublin National Concert Hall and February 5 and 6 in Amsterdam Muziekgebouw.
