On September 20 at 8.30 pm, Bristol's professional chamber orchestra Bristol Ensemble together with Choir of Royal Holloway under the baton of Rupert Gough will give a concert in Bristol. Concert presents Arvo Pärt’s Berliner Messe and Cantus in Memory of Benjamin Britten, and Tõnu Kõrvits’s Kreek’s Notebook. Concert will take place in former church, currently one of the country’s leading concert halls St George’s Bristol.
Kreek‘s Notebook is a work by the contemporary Estonian composer Tõnu Kõrvits, inspired by the composer Cyrillus Kreek who collected Estonian folk melodies. The Choir of Royal Holloway recorded the eight-movement work for a CD for the Hyperion label, released in July 2013.
