Concert of Arvo Pärt’s music

On May 21 at 7 pm, Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir with Tallinn Chamber Orchestra under the guidance of Tõnu Kaljuste will perform Arvo Pärt’s music at Tartu Assembly Hall of Tartu University. This concert is the conclusion of the “Word and Music” (“Sõna ja muusika”) lecture series on Arvo Pärt during the 2013/2014 academic year when composer Arvo Pärt was working as Professor of Fine Arts at the University of Tartu.

The program of the concert consists of Fratres for violin, string orchestra and percussion (1977/1992), Adam’s Lament for mixed choir and string orchestra (2009), Cantus in Memoriam Benjamin Britten for string orchestra and bell (1977/1980) and Te Deum for mixed choir, prepared piano, string orchestra and wind harp (1984–1985/1992).

Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir and Tallinn Chamber Orchestra conducted by Tõnu Kaljuste will perform the world-famous music of Arvo Pärt also in Washington, DC and New York from May 27 to June 2. The concerts will take place in the presence of composer Arvo Pärt.
