Oslo Voices program “58 degrees north” consists entirely of Norwegian music. The title reflects the latitudes, where one of Norway's major cities, Kristiansand is located at 58 degrees north. In this program we start from this city and we will perform music from south and northwards from different parts of our elongated country. Norway has a rich choir tradition, which has inspired our Norwegian composers for centuries. That is why Oslo Voices has chosen some Norwegian-composed songs that we like and that we think fit our choir quite well.

Oslo Voices is proud to present music that is both well-known abroad as well as completely unknown in Norway. Edvard Grieg's vocal music is performed all over the world, and Knut Nystedt's music is often seen represented internationally and is widely used in the United States. The living composer Frank Havrøy contributes with his piece written to Oslo Voices, where the text was the favorite poem of, among others, freedom fighter Nelson Mandela.

Our Norwegian choir tradition extends this way across borders, and this particular program we would like to present not only to Norwegians, but also to our concerts abroad. In September we are going to Estonia to present some of our Norwegian composers. We are delighted to be able to bring fantastic Norwegian choral music as an export item around the world!

Oslo Voices chamber choir was founded March 9th 2012 and consists of 34 driven and experienced singers with a great love of song. Our main aim is to enthrall the audience with beautiful classical music. We have a wide repertoire that spans from renaissance music to newly written works. We are a modern, serious and ambitious choir.
Together with our conductor Ingrid Hanken, we have set long term and ambitious goals for the further development of the choir. We seek to create a well-balanced ensemble that can perform technically demanding music of top quality, both larger works and separate pieces.
