Concert of Indian Ethnic Fusion Music: 'ABIOGENESIS BAND'
Embassy of India & Indian Council of Cultural Relations present Concert of Indian Ethnic Fusion Music.
Abiogenesis is a folk-fusion act that hails from Nagaland, India. Abiogenesis reinvented a version of folk music they call Howey Music. Blending Naga folk elements from India with modern tunes, the result is offbeat, unique, and completely enchanting. They also play two new Indian musical instruments called Bamhum and Tikzik invented by the band leader Moa.Bamhum's unique tone brings an otherworldly quality to the band's sound and highlights the group's fresh take on a classic genre. In the concert, the band will be playing songs from their 4 albums, Aeon Spell, Rustic Relish, Slice of Heaven and Legacy of The Mountains. Each song has a special meaning, and Arenla, the front lady, narrates and explains the untold stories and folklores of Nagaland. Abiogenesis will perform both instrumental numbers with the Bamhum as the leading instrument and vocal numbers with English lyrics.
