German publisher Schott Music has released book about Erkki-Sven Tüür in the series New Magazine for Music Edition. Compilation of articles entitled as Schwarze Milch und bunte Steine edited by Hans-Klaus Jungheinrich consists of lectures on Erkki-Sven Tüür’s music held within “Auftakt 2007” in Alte Oper Frankfurt.
Jörn Peter Hiekel talks about Tüür’s choral music, Kerri Kotta about composer’s formal basis, Hartmut Lück about opera Wallenberg, Wolfgang Sandner about Concerto for Violin and Orchestra, Hans-Klaus Jungheinrich about Tüür and symphonic tradition, Tomi Mäkela about the work Searching for Roots and Estonian identity. Also Jungheinrich’s interview with Tüür and the discussion between all participants is appended.
