Benefit concerts „Christmas Music in Three Churches“ in Tallinn and Helsinki

In the beginning of December, three memorial concerts „Christmas Music in Three Churches“ to remember those who perished in the Riga catastrophe will be held by the Rotary Clubs in Estonia, Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre, Tallinn Philharmonic Society, Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir and Nargenfestival in Tallinn and Helsinki.

The program consists of „Magnificat á 6 voci“ by Claudio Monteverdi, Vesperae Solennes de Confessore by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, „O salutaris hostia“ by Vytautas Miškinis, „Give Me No Splendour, Gold or Pomp“ by Jean Sibelius, „Hymn to the Virgin Mary“ and Estonian premiere of Ave Maria for mixed choir and string orchestra (2013) by Riho Esko Maimets. Works will be performed by Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre Choir, Tallinn Chamber Orchestra, soloists Maria Valdmaa (soprano), Annika Lõhmus (soprano), Helen Lepalaan (mezzo soprano), Mikk Dede (tenor), Valter Soosalu (tenor) and Ott Kask (bass) and conducted by Tõnu Kaljuste and Valter Soosalu.

Benefit concerts will take place on December 5 at 7.30 pm at Tallinn Methodist Church, December 7 at 3 pm at Swedish St Michael’s Church and December 8 at 5 pm at Helsinki Cathedral. Free entrance, bank account for donations: Eesti Rotary Keskus MTÜ, No: 221058659583 (IBAN EE032200221058659538).
