Annual Prizes of the Estonian Choral Association

On January 23, Estonian Choral Association announced the annual prizes of choir and wind music in Estonia Concert Hall. Estonian National Opera Boys’ Choir (conductor Hirvo Surva) was recognised The Choir of the Year 2015 for successful performance at the international choir festival „Tallinn 2015“, participation in five large-scale works and 55 performances in National Opera. Oonurme Mixed Choir (conductors Ants Üleoja and Keio Soomelt) was also selected as the Choir of the Year for the contribution to the cultural space. 81 nominees applied for 12 titles, the selection was made by Music Council of Choral Association.

The laureates of the Annual Prizes of the Estonian Choral Association are:
Choirs of the Year 2015 – Estonian National Opera Boys’ Choir (conductor Hirvo Surva) and Oonurme Mixed Choir (conductors Ants Üleoja and Keio Soomelt)
Wind Orchestra of the Year 2015 – Eller Brass (conductor Priit Sonn)
Conductor of the Year 2015 – Külli Lokko
Conductor-Music Teacher of the Year 2015 – Heli Roos
Young Conductor of the Year 2015 – Kaspar Mänd
Orchestra Conductor of the Year 2015 – Priit Sonn
Young Orchestra Conductor of the Year 2015 – Riivo Jõgi
Supporters of the Year 2015 – Estonian Authors’ Society and Tabasalu Music School
Supporter of the Years – City of Tallinn
Organisers of the Year 2015 – Meeli Müller; Maarja Ülper and Triinu Arak
Deed of the Year 2015 – Nargenfestival
Cooperation Prize of the Year 2015 – Veljo Tormis Cultural Society
Choir Composer of the Year 2015 – Andres Lemba
Choir Album of the Year 2015 – „Seedlings“, Academic Women's Choir of the University of Tartu
