Nordic Symphony Orchestra opens its 16th concert season on 9th october and 11th october 19.00 at Estonian Concert Hall and 10th october 19.00 at Vanemuine Concert Hall with concerts by A. Pärt´s, C. Nielsen´s and P. Tchaikovsky´s music. Soloist Erwin Klambauer (flute, Austria), conductor Anu Tali.

Nordic Symphony Orchestra was founded by Anu and Kadri Tali in 1997 as an Estonian-Finnish Symphony Orchestra, which included professional musicians from Estonia and Finland. By today the orchestra has international membership including renowed soloists from concert stages wordwide. (The Finnish National Opera, Covent Garden, St. Petersburg Philharmonics, Oper Frankfurt, Zürich Tonhalle Symphony Orchestra, NDR Hamburg, Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra, Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra, London Philharmonic Orchestra ect.) All participians of the orchestra has united in aim to develope new quality and expression in classical music.

Arvo Pärt´s „Silhouette“ is musical homage for an architect Gustave Eiffelile, which is written for string orchestra and three percussion players. Written in 2009, first performance was held in Paris on 6th november in 2010 and is dedicated to the first performers on the work. Carl Nielsen´s Concerto for Flute and orchestra (D.F.119) was written in 1926 for Gilbert Jespersen, who succeeded Paul Hagemann as flautist of the Copenhagen Wind quintet. The concerto, in two movements, was generally well received at its premiere in Paris in October 1926 where Nielsen had introduced a temporary ending. The first complete version was played in Copenhagen the following January. The flute concerto has now become part of the international repertoire. P. Tchaikovsky´s Symphony nr.6 Pathétique is written in 1986 and belongs also to the often performed classics repetrtoire.
