Vocalissimo Kaia Urb

Concert series Vocalissimo which introduces Estonian singers will feature in February soprano Kaia Urb with her long-standing ensemble partner guitarist Heiki Mätlik. The concert entitled Estonian Romance will take place on February 19 at 6 pm at Tallinn Town Hall.

The program consists of romantic Estonian solo songs by composers Miina Härma, Artur Lemba, Mihkel Lüdig, Aleksander Lätte, Eino Tamberg and Margo Kõlar. Concert series Vocalissimo is organised by the Estonian State Concert Institute Eesti Kontsert.

The collaboration between Kaia Urb and Heiki Mätlik has lasted over 15 years. In addition to successful concerts at different concert venues all over Estonia they have also performed in Germany, Finland and elsewhere. Their repertoire includes works from early music to contemporary works, e. g. works especially composed for them by Ester Mägi, Eino Tamberg, Margo Kõlar and others Estonian composers. Duo has recorded five CD-s, including the CD Russian Romantic Songs released by the record company Harmonia Mundi in 2005.
