Erkki-Sven Tüür’s orchestral music in USA, Germany, Finland and Tallinn

In the near future, several Erkki-Sven Tüür’s orchestral works will be performed in concert halls both in USA and Europe. Tüür’s Piano Concerto (2006) will be played by Finnish pianist Laura Mikkola already in Friday in Tampere Hall, where Tampere Philharmonic Orchestra will be conducted by Olari Elts. In a week, the same concerto will be performed in Tallinn by Mihkel Poll with Estonian National Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Olari Elts. Estonian audience can partake in Tüür’s music also on February 15, when Exodus for symphony orchestra (1999) is in the program of Estonian National Symphony Orchestra’s concert conducted by Eri Klas in Estonia Concert Hall. Both concerts in Tallinn will be broadcast live by Klassikaraadio. Searching for Roots for symphony orchestra (1990) will be presented at the concert of Oakland Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Gregory Cunningham in USA, Varner Recital Hall, Rochester on February 10. Questions for vocal ensemble and string orchestra (2007) will be performed by The Hilliard Ensemble and Die Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen with conductor Paavo Järvi in Bremen Die Glocke on Feburary 19, 21 and 23 and Laeiszhalle in Hamburg on Febuary 22.
