Jennifer Walshe: SELF-CARE (2017)
Philip Venables: My favourite piece is the Goldberg Variations (2021)
Working closely with Jennifer Walshe on her new solo piece SELF-CARE in 2016/2017, inspired Andreas Borregaard (Denmark) to further investigate physical non-instrumental performance from an instrumentalist’s point of view. This led to his PhD-project at the Norwegian Academy of Music in Oslo, “Just Do It?! – exploring the musician’s use of bodily performance”, within which he has commissioned a handful of composers to write new pieces for me. Philip Venables was one of them.
