Tiia Tenno

b. 14.05.1968 Tartu

Tiia Tenno began piano studies at Tarti I Children Music School and graduated in 1987 from Heino Eller Tartu Music School under the guidance of Anu Antson. In 1992–1995 Tenno developed her skills in Germany, where she graduated from Herford School of Church Music. In 1996 Tiia Tenno graduated on organ from Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre under the guidance of Prof. Hugo Lepnurm and Andres Uibo and continued in 2007 magister’s geree studies with Andres Uibo. In addition Tiia Tenno has taken part of several master classes including  Wolfgang Zerer, Jon Laukvik, Ewald Kooiman, Andrea Marcon, Peter van Dijk and Bernhard Haas.

In 1993–1995 Tiia Tenno was an organist and choir conductor in Germany, Schnathorst Chuch and 2004–2007 head of the music department of Institute of Theology of Estonian Evangelical Lutheran Church. Since 1996 Tiia Tenno is organist and choir conductor of  St. John's Church in Tallinn and has been founder and board member of The Organ Foundation of the church. She has performed as a soloist at international festivals in Estonia, Finland, Sweden and Germany and performed with Finnish-Estonian Baroque Orchestra and Tallinn Chamber Orchestra. Tiia Tenno has cooperated with soloists including Toomas Vavilov, Pille Lill, Oliver Kuusik ect and participated in Klassikaraadio live program „Orelitund“ („An Organ Hour"). Music played by Tiia Tenno has been recorded by Estonian Public Broadcast and may be found from several compilation albums. Since 1999 Tiia Tenno is member of  Estonian Organ Society.
