Heigo Rosin

Percussionist Heigo Rosin started his musical studies in the age of 4 on piano at Põltsamaa Music School with Õie Aruoja. In 2000, Rosin started percussion studies at Heino Eller Tartu Music School with Raivo Rebane. In 2013, he completed his master studies (cum laude) at Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre with docent Rein Roos and 2014, he graduated from the Royal Conservatoire of Antwerp with the Master’s Degree (cum laude) with Prof. Carlo Willems and Prof. Koen Wilmars. Since Autumn 2014, Rosin studies at Royal Academy of Music in Aarhus to earn a soloist diploma.

Heigo has participated in the master classes of She-E Wu (USA), Anders Åstrand (Sweden), Pius Cheung (Hong Kong), Rob Waring (Norway), Einar Nielsen (Denmark), Kai Steensgaard (Denmark), Johan Bridger (Sweden), Henrik Larsen (Denmark), Naoko Takada (Japan), Emmanuel Séjourné (France), Andrei Pushkarev (Ukraina), Stanisław Skoczyński (Poland), Mark Ford (USA), Igor Lesnik (Croatia), Kyung Hwan Choi (South Korea), Leo Ouderits (Belgium), Carlo Willems (Belgium), David Friedman (USA), Linda Maxey (USA), Hakim Ludin (Afghanistan), Jeff Moore (USA), Mario Boivin (France), Heinz von Moisy (Germany) and Pedro Carneiro (Portugal), he has also participated in drum clinics of Dave Weckl and Sheila E.

Heigo Rosin has been awarded at several national and international competitions: I Prize at contemporary music competition De Linkprijs in Netherlands (2013), I Prize at Yamaha Scholarship Competition 2013 for Percussion, II Prize and Estonian Academy of Music and classical music radio Klassikaraadio prizes at Estonian TV competition Classical Stars (Klassikatähed) (2013), I Prize at Estonian National Competition for Winds and Percussion in Tallinn (2012), II Prize at Competition of Three Music Schools in Estonia (2008), I Prize at Competition of Estonian Youth Percussion Students (2006). Additonally, he has participated in marimba competition in Fermo, Italy (2011, 2012) and Percussion Competition The Tromp in Netherlands (2010).

Heigo Rosin has performed with orchestras like Baltic Sea Youth Philharmonic, Järvi Academy Orchestra, Liégé Philharmonic Ochestra, De Munt Symphony Orchestra, Il Novecento Symphony Orchestra (The Night of the Proms tour 2011, 2012), Estonian National Symphony Orchestra, Estonian National Opera Orchestra, Vanemuine Symphony Orchestra and Tallinn Chamber Orchestra. He has appeared as soloist with Klaipėda Chamber Orchestra, Estonian National Symphony Orchestra, Vanemuine Symphony Orchestra, Tallinn Chamber Orchestra, Orchestra of Suure-Jaani Music Festival and Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre Symphony Orchestra. Additionally, he has performed with different solo programs both in Estonia and abroad: Poland, Belgium, Finland, Netherlands, Denmark and in Italy.
