Mait Jüriado

April 12, 1983 Tartu
Member of the Estonian Composers' Union since 2010

Composer and photographer Mait Jüraido’s music has a clear structure and is easily perceptible, the beauty of his musical language is characterised by bright colour and deepness. Jüriado’s works are rather based on his inner feelings than certain model of structure, form and style. The body of his oeuvre is formed by works for solo instruments, he has also written music for instrumental ensembles, orchestra and electronics. In recent years, also music for films and works where composer’s own photo projections form an important part, have emerged to Jüriado’s centre of interest. He doesn’t want to over- and underestimate the power of photo compared to music, the stronger impulses often arise in the symbiosis between music and picture.

Mait Jürado’s works have been performed at Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre Autumn Festival and Estonian Music Days Festival. In 2009, his orchestral work Unfinished Nights was premiered at Suure-Jaani Gymnasium Hall.

Mait Jüriado has studied clarinet at Viljandi Children Music School and Tartu Heino Eller Music School. In 2001, he graduated from Tartu Heino Eller Music School in composition with Katrin Aller.
