b. August 10, 1989Rebeca Vilpuu began her music studies in 1996 at the Tabasalu Music School, studying piano under the guidance of Krista Jauk. She continued her studies in 2013 at the Georg Ots Tallinn Music College, majoring in music theory and composition.
In 2016–2020, she obtained her bachelor's degrees in classical composition and electroacoustic composition from the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre. Vilpuu also completed her master's studies (2022–2025) at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre, participating in an exchange program at the Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media in Germany as part of her studies.
Rebeca Vilpuu has created electroacoustic, instrumental and choral works. In her work, she is interested in various visual phenomena and has explored different ways in which electronic and instrumental instruments interact with each other in her recent works. The latest keywords that have triggered the creative impulse have been different colors, textures and qualities of materials, literature and poetry, and different states of mind. As a composer, she considers her works to be successful when they are balanced in emotionality and a richness of timbres and rhythms, and they open up the opportunity for the audience to travel into an imaginary soundscape through the listening experience.
