„Requiem” in C-minor by Cyrillus Kreek and „Kreek’s notebook” by Tõnu Kõrvits in Tallinn Methodist Church

On April 20 at 7 p.m. concert of Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir and Tallinn Chamber Orchestra will take place in Tallinn Methodist Church. The program consists of Estonian sacred music: Cyrillus Kreek’s „Requiem” (1927) and Tõnu Kõrvits’s „Kreek’s notebook” (2007). Soloist is Tiit Kogermann, organ is played by Ene Salumäe, conductor is Tõnu Kaljuste.

The first requiem in Estonian music history will be performed alongside of Kõrvits’s „Kreek’s notebook” which is based on Estonian sacred folk tunes collected and used by Kreek himself. The same programme was performed by the same staff at the Cyrillus Kreek Music Days in Haapsalu Castle in June 2007. Both works will be recorded soon on the CD that will be released in September.
